
1 Demsburr Farms 
The Dempsey/Burr families have been farming in Ameliasburg for over 200 years. The families have run the 750-acre mixed farming operation since the early 1920’s and they have been involved in milking goats since January 2008. Currently they have 124 milking goats, a mixture of Saanen, La Mancha, French Alpine, Toggenburg, Nubian, as well as a small commercial flock of sheep and a small beef herd. Recently, the Dempsey Burr families have resumed using 100 acres of their woods for maple syrup production adding maple syrup to the list of their retail offerings of beef and lamb. Demsburr Farms grow their own soya beans, corn, wheat and an oats, barley and peas mixture allowing the farm to raise almost all the feed that the animals eat. 2 Capricorn View Farm 
Owned and operated by Sonja and Dino Iannuzzi in Prince Edward County, Capricorn View Farm is a grade “A” licensed dairy goat farm with over 350 purebred Nubians, Saanens and Alpines. The farm has been in business since 2003 selling goat milk, goat milk soap and goat meat. Sonja is well versed in farm animal care – she holds two degrees from the University of Guelph including one in Animal Science and her experience includes 20 years on dairy cattle farms and 8 years working for a large animal veterinarian. 3 The Jack Lafferty Farm 
The Jack Lafferty Farm is a sixth generation farm functioning in the family since the mid to late 1800’s and is currently owned by John, Martha and Steven Lafferty. Steve has about twenty years experience in the dairy business and the family has been milking goats commercially for seven years now. The Lafferty family is happy to be producing milk for Fifth Town and looks forward to a long relationship with Petra and the whole Fifth Town team.
4 Windward Farms 
Windward Farms has been a sheep and market lamb farm since 1997. Owners Mike and Julie DeCastris and their family have been milking their herd of sheep, 100 Friesian Dorset crosses since 2008. Aside from raising market lambs, the DeCastris family raises and sell Akbash guardian dogs that protect sheep from predators. 5 Siebenga Sheep Dairy 
Stan and Stacey Siebenga and their kids Maria, Lydia, Daniel, Josiah and Benjamin are truly a family farm. The family has been in the dairy business for a long time, both Stan and Stacey were raised on farms and Stan grew up milking cows switching to sheep in 1998. This year, the Siebenga Sheep Dairy aims to milk 120 ewes. Siebenga Sheep Dairy grows all their own feed, they are non-GMO and are certified Local Food Plus selling farm fresh brown eggs and sides of lamb. While the Siebengas welcome tours, they prefer to plan them well ahead of time. The farm is located at 381 Philipston Rd. 6 Murray Hills Sugar Bush & Dairy Sheep 
Owners Lawrence & Marion Greveling bought their farm as vacant land building Murray Hills Sugar Bush & Dairy Sheep with the help of their four children. A Local Foods Plus certified farm that grows all their animals’ feed, the Grevelings have been farming for 15 years and in the dairy business for the last decade. Stocked with 635 maple taps and 150 East Friesian ewes, Murray Hills Sugar Bush & Dairy Sheep produces maple syrup and freezer orders of lamb which is readily available through the Brighton Farmers Market: www.brightonfarmersmarket.ca. While the Grevelings don’t offer formal tours, they are happy to show guests around the farm during maple season.
