OCS Annual conference
The 3rd annual OCS conference will take place at the International Convention Centre (Toronto) on Friday March 23, 2007.
You’ll learn, network and taste… all in support of the ever-growing artisanal cheese industry in Ontario. If you make cheese, sell cheese, distribute cheese, write about cheese, produce milk, work at a restaurant, or simply appreciate eating cheese, this conference will benefit you. Here are some of the highlights:
There will be not one, but two cheese tastings during the conference. To round off the day,we have a chance to taste samplings from OCS’ very own cheesemakers accompanied by Ontario wine. Earlier, Jody Farnham from the Vermont Institute of Artisan Cheese will be presenting some fine cheeses from Vermont.
The keynote speaker will be artisan cheese superstar Paul Kindstedt. Dr. Kindstedt is the founder of the Vermont Institute for Artisan Cheese and is largely credited with having fostered the now successful artisan cheese industry in Vermont. He is a sought-after speaker around the world, and we will be fortunate to have him on the 23rd.
Other speakers include renowned Chef Jamie Kennedy (“Putting cheese on the menu”) and Steve Cavell, CEO of the hugely successful company Organic Meadow will discuss organic dairying.
There will also be two in! evitably llively panel discussions which will cover the topics off building a new cheese plant and innovations in the retail industry.
