TOP FIVE NAMES SELECTED FOR NEW CHEESE
Still time to register your vote for our new cheese name!
The FT team would like to thank you all for submitting more than 150 names for our new cheese on Facebook and via email!Wow! What a selection! Some made us laugh. Some made us cry! And some made us wonder? But overall, we had a difficult time selecting the top five that we wanted to put foward for a final vote. That said, the top 5 are (drum roll)....
Sailor’s Delight (A nod to the County’s maritime heritage)
Cressy Sunrise (A beautiful sunrise over Lake Ontario south of the dairy is a common sight)
Quintessence (The milk for this cheese comes from Jean McCornock’s farm called Quinte Crest.)
Fifth Wheelsman (A local story about a courageous 5th wheelsman on a local boat)
Morning Moon (Chances are if you are up at 5am, you will have seen the likes of a morning moon!)
The criteria for selecting the five finalists relate to Fifth Town’s overall mission statement. Essentially we are about making unique tasting fine cheeses, local sourcing, and sustainable enterprise management. So we looked for names that were in concert with these themes.
At this point, we are going to put the final selection to a vote. To make your vote count, please click on the linke below and chose your favorite name! The voting will close Feb 15th, 2011.
Please note that the first wheel of this new cheese will be available mid March.
Our retail store will re-open for the season on Wednesday, March 9th (Note we will be open Valentine’s Day weekend as well as Family Day weekend).
