FT Welcomes Cooke’s Fine Food & Coffee as Authorized Wholesaler & Retailer
While Cooke’s has been carrying FT cheese since we began, we are pleased that Cooke’s will now also wholesale FT cheese in the Prince Edward County, Kingston and Brockville area but for pick up orders only.
Many restaurants in the Picton, Kinston and Brockville area already include Fifth Town cheeses on their menus; however, find it difficult to find the time to drive to Fifth Town to buy the cheese they need. In addition, increases in transportation and fulfillment costs have increased.
According to Petra Cooper, “Many of our restaurant customers do only need a small amount of cheese at one time. And a delivery charge on a small order is cost prohibitive. So, we needed to come up with another option for our customers. Working with Cooke’s was an obvious solution as many food service customers already pick up their coffee from Cooke’s as well. In my view, it was a no brainer. Customers can still order from FT if they desire under the new terms or from any other wholesaler if they prefer delivery, however, they also now have a more cost effective option of picking up their food service cheese orders and coffee at a convenient downtown location.”
The food service price at FT and Cooke’s are harmonized. So there is no price advantage by purchasing from one or the other. Food service orders must be picked up from Cooke’s (no delivery service available).
