Who Are We?

The Fifth Town Artisan Cheese Company is privately owned, environmentally and socially responsible enterprise producing fine hand made cheeses using fresh, locally produced goat and buffalo milk. The product development processes reflects the spirit of the Fifth Town brand, which aims to integrate traditional methods, contemporary tastes, and craftsmanship ethics with local terroir. Situated on 20 acres of agricultural land on the eastern ridge of Prince Edward County, the 4800 square foot Fifth Town dairy processing, retail and educational facility enhances the practice of artisan cheese making with advanced sustainable design. The project achieved Platinum LEED accreditation under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program in March 2009.


In the summer, we serve cheese and charcuterie boards or take out plates to enjoy in our outdoor lounge seating or under our resource pavilion.  This year we are firing up the BBQ and serving Bison, Lamb, Beef burgers and hotdogs or mild sausage with our Buffalina Buffalo, Engarde Goat or famous Fifthtown cheddar.  Prices are $6-$10 and include an organic Italian soda.  Or purchase our in-house freshly squeezed orange juice and artisan ice cream made with 100% Ontario milk.  We also stock bottled water and a fine assortment of cured meats and 100% natural, nitrate free beef jerky as well as honey and preserves made from fruit from our bees and orchard.  Fresh fruit will be available as we harvest.  WE DO NOT SPRAY OR APPLY FUNGICIDES TO OUR ORCHARD AND VINEYARD, so feel free to walk with your children and pets around the property.
